Supporting the General Manager's office in areas of strategic importance, project management & administration. Liaises closely with employees at all levels & other external third parties to ensure the meeting of assigned deliverables in a safe, timely, cost effective & efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs routine clerical, administrative and other confidential functions specific to the department or as directed by the General Manager.
  2. Coordinates with the General Manager to develop schedules and high-level overall project schedules, including but not limited to work breakdown structure, cost, timelines, and scheduling for assigned outages and major projects as assigned.
  3. Generates schedule reports and works as assigned on resource reporting, monitoring, and analyses and reports and analyses monthly deviations and discrepancies from plan (actuals versus budget/forecast).
  4. Assists with the evaluation of the allocation of resources and provides recommendations to the General Manager to maintain required progress.
  5. Interfaces with all stakeholders on planning and work progress-related issues for and on behalf of the General Manager.
  6. Reviews project schedules, work orders, and work packages for assigned outages and major projects under the guidance of the General Manager or his delegate.
  7. Prepares statistical data, graphs, charts, and reports and performs simple analyses with guidance from the General Manager or his delegate.
  8. Arranges and coordinates meetings and presentations to share ideas, findings and develop solutions and/or action plans arising therefrom.
  9. Provides administrative support in the requirements analysis and other technical and commercial due diligence assessments for new business opportunities and documents and communicates results of efforts.
  10. Gathers, compiles, and documents critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produces reports and presentations for various stakeholder audiences as required.
  11. Assists with the preparation of business cases, board notes, cost-benefit and alternative analyses, and reports.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  1. BSc. Mechanical/Electrical/Process/Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent from a well recognised accredited institution.
  2. Post graduate studies in Business Administration, Project or Engineering Management will be an asset.
  3. Certification in project management from a well-recognised professional body would be an advantage.
  4. At least five (5) years of progressive technical experience in the power/energy sector, with at least two (2) years of experience providing administrative support to a technical team/department.
  5. Previous experience working in a Project Management oriented role.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Working competency in commercial and financial modelling and risk analysis.
  2.  Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to integrate well into a team and build effective relationships.
  3.  Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities and aggressive project timeframes.
  4.  Possesses an analytical mind, with a keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
