The Team Lead, Supply Chain reports to the Manager, Procurement Services and will be responsible for managing and directing Inbound and Outbound Logistics, Customs and Brokerage, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Company Insurance Portfolio, Claims and Equipment Configuration.

JOB SUMMARY

The Team Lead, Supply Chain is responsible in managing and directing Inbound and Outbound Logistics, Customs and Brokerage, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Preventative Maintenance Scheduling for Property and Facilities, Security, Fleet Management, Company Insurance Portfolio, Claims and Equipment Configuration. Responsible for the continuous and smooth operation of the organisation which meets the expectations and needs of both internal and external customers and clients.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delight customers daily in keeping with customer service best practices.
  • Works with the General Manager and Managerial team to establish the annual tasks and objectives to be achieved.
  • Develop and manage Annual Budgets and track expenditure against Annual Operating Plan.
  • Ensures proper planning and overall direction of the Operations Team and functions.
  • Reviews all operations performance to ensure optimal customer service and production is achieved.
  • Maintain and develop operational statistics, financial management information and results reporting.
  • Develops, implements, reviews and upgrades system for approval, maintains a criticality rating and inventory re-order system to effectively achieve the Company goals. This includes a system for approval of max/mins.
  • Manages the treatment of obsolescence, adjustment to Inventory levels and standardization of the inventory master file and reporting to Finance.
  • Manages inventory recovery and end of life disposals in accordance with policy.
  • Ensures inventory balances are accurate, and all stock is adequately accounted for.
  • Manages the physical warehouse infrastructure and the inventory assets. This includes loss control, inventory preservation and storage techniques and preventative or corrective actions as required.
  • Manages insurance claims and procedures associated with import and export of parts and equipment including intra-company transfers.
  • Ensures that there are proper inventory handling methods and equipment to minimize damage to inventory and personnel.
  • Reporting of inventory discrepancies and executing management investigations of same and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Implement and maintain strict Warehousing and Logistics Systems leading towards continued accuracy and readiness in reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Company Policies and procedures at all assigned locations.
  • Develop and recommend appropriate Preventative Maintenance Program including scope, procedures, standards, and measures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s assets.
  • Supervise the works of contractors, sub-contractors, outsourced service providers and employees in accordance with Contracts, approved work orders as applicable.
  • Directs the development of and manages the implementation of facilities upgrades, remodeling, construction, relocation, and other related projects.
  • Develop and maintain a strict Preventative Maintenance Program towards the upkeep of the company’s fleet of vehicles to ensure the efficient and effective management of same.
  • Work closely with HSE as a key integrator in the safe operations of the company.
  • Ensure all HSE assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are fulfilled on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable HSE legislation and policies as far as reasonably practicable.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A first Degree in Business Administration
  • Warehousing / Logistics Certificates
  • An MBA would be considered an asset

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Practical knowledge of Warehousing and Inventory Operations.
  • Knowledge of Fleet and Property Maintenance.
  • Supplier / Contractor Negotiation.
  • Contractor Management experience.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team and add towards the growth of the team.
  • Computer literate with proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Efficient problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to provide solutions to issues which may arise.
  • Excellent verbal communication, the ability to formulate oral and written communication and reports.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in a similar work environment at a supervisory / management level.
  • Must be a certified forklift operator.
