The Business & Employment Centre is seeking a suitably experienced Team Lead to join its team. If you are strong in supervisory management, we are looking for you!

Job Title: Team Lead

The Team Lead is responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, and HR‑focused management of contracted ground‑level staff assigned to the client’s operations. This role ensures full compliance with contractual obligations, labour policies, workplace safety standards, and performance expectations. The Team Lead acts as the primary liaison between the contracted workforce, internal HR/Operations teams, and the client, ensuring efficient staffing, consistent service delivery, and prompt resolution of personnel‑related matters.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR & People Management

  • Oversee the daily attendance, discipline, performance, and general welfare of ground‑level contracted employees.
  • Ensure real‑time staffing coverage by managing replacements, call‑outs, and redeployments.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, daily coaching, counselling, and corrective actions in accordance with HR policies.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans for team members as needed.
  • Manage all matters related to payroll inputs (attendance, allowances, overtime verification, schedule accuracy, etc.).
  • Support HR with investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee‑relations issues.

2. Workforce Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize work schedules and vacation rosters to meet client operational demands.
  • Ensure adequate resource allocation for all shifts, considering peak periods, absenteeism, and emergency replacements.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records of staff deployment, assignments, and attendance.

3. Client Relationship & Service Delivery

  • Act as the on‑site first point of contact for the client regarding workforce, behavioural, and service issues.
  • Communicate promptly with client representatives regarding operational updates, staffing concerns, and service impacts.
  • Investigate client‑reported service quality issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Lead daily briefings with client teams where necessary to align workforce activities with service expectations.

4. Operational Oversight & Compliance

  • Ensure that all operational and HR‑related procedures are consistently followed by staff according to documented SOPs and client requirements.
  • Uphold workplace safety standards and ensure staff compliance with all safety rules, regulations, and client‑specific protocols.
  • Monitor adherence to contractual service levels for distribution, warehousing, or other operational domains.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports including headcount, attendance, incidents, performance metrics, and other operational updates as requested.

5. Administrative Duties & Reporting

  • Maintain records for leave requests, disciplinary actions, training, onboarding, and HR‑related documentation.
  • Prepare scheduled reports required by HR, Operations, or the client.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new contracted staff.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications/Experience

  • BSc/BA in Human Resource Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Management or related discipline OR
  • Certification in Supervisory Management plus 3 - 5 years’ supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution or operational environment managing field-level staff.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple workforce priorities simultaneously


Qualifications/Experience

  • A BSc/BA in Logistics, Supply Chain, Management or related discipline or Certification in Supervisory Management coupled with 3 - 5 years’ experience supervising or managing in a Logistics Warehousing / Distribution environment.
