The Client’s HRSC Services process area performs tasks to monitor and track compliance of Client’s Partners & employees to firm and regulatory compliance requirements.

OVERVIEW:

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”). The Client’s Risk Management – Ethics & Independence function is expanding operations at JESS to help drive agility in the Sentinel approval process. This team will serve as a central point of contact for escalations, helping the business move with speed through established approval processes. Team members within the delivery center work with Client’s stakeholders under a team extension model to support Client’s back-office operations.


The Client’s HRSC Services process area performs tasks to monitor and track compliance of Client’s Partners & employees to firm and regulatory compliance requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, tracking professional licenses (e.g. CPA, CFA, PTIN, ESQ, etc.), higher education (e.g. MBA, PHD, etc.) and professional certifications (e.g. CPA, PMP, PCHR, etc.) Additional requirements include preparing and delivering reporting, processing Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) bonuses, analytics, and quality assurance, as well as documentation review and verification.



JOB SUMMARY:

The Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team of resources, who will be performing various tasks within the Clients’ process area. Specifically, this role will ensure that all team members adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) and complete deliverables on time and within agreed quality metrics. Such processes include, but not limited to, reviewing Continuing Professional Education (CPE) documentation submitted by the Client’s employees to determine eligibility criteria, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) bonus and reimbursement processing, Advisory/Tax tuition bonus and reimbursement processing, researching missing data, assigning CPE credits, and creating learning requests.


The JESS Team Lead reports primarily to the JESS Functional Manager but will also take directions from other HRSC Services Client team members who are accountable for supported work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery

Become proficient in the team’s processes supported by KJESS, and when necessary, perform these processes

Performs timely quality assurance review of team members’ delivery and ensures it meets Client’s expectations and deadlines.

Perform quality check (QC) of the deliverables

Identifies and resolves operational / delivery related issues and escalates to Client stakeholders and KJESS People Operations Manager, in accordance with the Governance structure

Communicate openly with the People Operations Manager, and provide status updates, escalations as needed

Monitor the team’s adherence to agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLA)/metrics, and assist the People Operations Manager with service performance (i.e. SLA) reporting

Gains advanced knowledge of the Clients’ policies, procedures, and applications

Drives continuous improvement initiatives such as automation and procedural enhancements

Ensures standard operating procedures (SOP) documents accurately reflect the way the process is performed, updating every time a process change is administered (policy change, improvement, etc.)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 3+ years of work experience (experience in a public accounting firm, a plus).

At least two years managing a team of at least five resources

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Our team is using a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between working from home in Jamaica and being in the office. Expected to spend a minimum of five days each month in the office, though this number may increase depending on business needs.

Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment

Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities

May be required to work extended hours periodically
