Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Client Data Management team in the capacity of:
Team Lead - Government Data Management
Work with team and Unit Management to identify areas for improvement and assist with implementing improvement initiatives as assigned.
Assist with resolving operational and team-related issues to aid in ensuring accurate and efficient management of data related to government clients, policies and regulatory compliance.
Assist with monitoring the effectiveness of procedures and processes for providing and maintaining accurate and consistent standards, quality, integrity, and security of client data.
Location: Kingston
As a Team Lead- Government Data Management, you will:
- Guide, mentor and coach direct reports to ensure assignments are completed and Unit targets achieved.
- Identify training needs, conduct training as assigned and recommend professional development programmes.
- Coordinate workload distribution, prioritise tasks and ensure timely and effective execution of assignments in line with standard operating procedures and service level agreements.
- Review job descriptions periodically and make recommendations to Assistant Manager as required.
- Guide and monitor team members to assist with ensuring the procedures and processes for administering the portfolio of Government Business are followed adequate to delivering a high level of service to the client.
- Monitor communication with clients within the team for accuracy and completeness, resolve escalated client matters and provide relevant information to the respective groups within the assigned portfolio.
- Communicate with other departments, regarding issues affecting their assigned groups and in addressing concerns where payments or supporting documents are outstanding.
- Perform checks on maintenance and reconciliations of membership data for the employees and their dependents for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare, print, package and dispatch health cards to the relevant Field Service Officer, Client or Personnel and Administrator. Maintain proper records of cards dispatched.
- Monitor/ post payments received for the GEASO/GPASO Portfolio.
- Continuously monitor data management activities related to government business to ensure compliance with company policies and standards of service, data privacy legislation, healthcare and other relevant regulations, and business laws.
- Consult with Unit Management and recommend changes to processes and procedures to drive effective data handling and processing.
- Monitor data management processes and trends related to the government portfolio, identify areas for improvement and optimisation and share/report on any findings, for example, potential risks and compliance issues to team members and Management as appropriate.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams and other internal and external stakeholders to maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and execution of data handling and processing strategies to align Unit work and team performance to overall company strategy, goals and objectives.
- Prepare and email reports monthly on key performance variables.
- Contribute to the preparation of the department’s annual budget.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management studies or equivalent qualification, in a related field, from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Three (3) years’ working experience, with at least one (1) year spent at the supervisory level in the insurance industry, preferably the operations division of a life or health insurance company.
- Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) Health Insurance Associate or Associate Customer Service (ACS) designation.
- Supervisory or Management training highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge of local Data Privacy legislation.
- Excellent attitude to client service and teamwork.
- Excellent supervisory skills and sound knowledge of industrial relations.
- Sound analytical/problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills, with the ability to communicate technical data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software, data management software, tools and/or technology systems and databases.
- Sound knowledge of data protection laws and compliance requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and data lifecycle processes.
- In-depth knowledge of Government business portfolio and other Group Life and Health Insurance policy contracts.
- Knowledge of business laws and regulations in the insurance industry.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.
- Sound knowledge of insurance products, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principles.
- Sound knowledge of industrial relations practices
