About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Talent Acquisition, this role will provide you with the opportunity to:

  1. Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on, industry standards, and the needs of Island Grill
  2. Screen resumes and job applications; conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods
  3. Manage the offer process, including creating and routing offer letters for approval
  4. Track and monitor employee records to include staff complement for assigned restaurants
  5. Visit restaurants system wide on a consistent basis to collaborate with Restaurant Managers & District Managers re workforce planning and anticipating future hiring needs 
  6. Foster high-touch relationships with new hires to ensure that the new hire (first 90 days) experience is achieved & maintained by visiting restaurants and conducting pulse checks as per agreed standard & timeline
  7. Provide support to the Employee Engagement process/officer by providing relevant information to improve new hire engagement
  8. Promote the company’s reputation and attractiveness to all candidates by building great relationships with schools, colleges, community groups, recruiting agents/partners and other external parties
  9. Research competitors and make suggestions on ways to improve and become more attractive
  10. Support the Learning & Development team in the orientation, onboarding, confirmation & promotion processes of new hires

 Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or Associate Degree/Diploma/Professional certification in Human Resource Management, Social Science discipline or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity in the Restaurant/Food Service Industry
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of the Jamaican Labour Laws and statutory deduction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS Application Software
  • Evidence of dealing with high volume, deadline driven requests
