Role Overview: The Systems Analyst plays a key role in delivering technology-driven solutions by leading the analysis, planning, and implementation of complex business requirements. This role provides expert guidance on system development, maintenance, and support, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory standards. The Analyst is responsible for shaping and executing strategies and frameworks for change, while also contributing to the Technology team’s tactical planning and occasionally advising internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and consulting in the development and implementation of delivery systems, mentoring developers and recommending appropriate application architectures.
  • Lead and execute complex systems development tasks with minimal supervision, including coding, testing, and preparing all required technical documentation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop business proposals to address cross-functional challenges and opportunities.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and comply with internal standards, security policies, and regulatory expectations.
  • Support implementation through user acceptance testing, performance/stress testing, and post-implementation reviews to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies; provide expert insights in areas of specialization and evaluate new tools or platforms for relevance to the company.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Designers, and Developers to ensure successful implementation and integration of technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technology policies, standards, and architectural guidelines within the Technology team.
  • Anticipate future trends and potential risks to recommend proactive system and process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are also an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems analysis, solution design, or software development, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering technology solutions aligned with business needs in highly regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and systems solutions.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, banking operations, and relevant compliance and security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, SOX, GDPR).

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen ability to assess complex systems and recommend effective solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC), system design, testing, and implementation methodologies.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technical partners.
  • High attention to detail, with strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and assess their relevance within the banking environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
