Job Summary

The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the IT infrastructure of Tyres-R-Us Ltd. This includes ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of servers, networks, and business systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system administration and cybersecurity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and computer systems across all company sites.
  • Monitor system performance, network usage, and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Implement and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Perform regular system and data backups, disaster recovery testing, and ensure business continuity.
  • Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Ensure system security through firewalls, antivirus software, and regular updates.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, hardware inventories, and system changes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to support IT infrastructure and resolve issues.
  • Support end-users with technical assistance and training as needed.
  • Recommend and implement system improvements and upgrades.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar IT role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 Administration.
  • Experience managing virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is an asset.
