ur client in the Hospitality Sector is recruiting for Full time Line cooks. Contract – Full Time Days of work - Shift Monday to Saturday Shift – As per roster At times weekends may be required.

Our client is seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join the culinary team at the client.

Salary: $27 per hour.

This role is ideal for a skilled professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional sushi and Japanese-inspired cuisine within a refined, upscale dining environment.

The successful candidate will bring precision, creativity, and consistency to every dish, contributing to the premium dining experience that defines the client’s brand.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

  • Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, and specialty items to the highest standards
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and preparation of fish and seafood
  • Maintain freshness and proper rotation of all ingredients
  • Prepare sushi rice and sauces according to established recipes

Quality & Presentation

  • Deliver visually appealing, high-quality dishes consistently
  • Maintain accurate portioning and plating standards
  • Inspect seafood deliveries for freshness and quality

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sushi station
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
  • Support ordering of seafood and related ingredients
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service

Hygiene & Food Safety

  • Adhere to all HACCP and food safety standards
  • Maintain strict sanitation and cleanliness practices
  • Ensure proper temperature control for seafood storage

Collaboration

  • Work closely with chefs and front-of-house staff for timely service
  • Contribute to menu development and seasonal offerings

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook in a restaurant environment
  • Strong knife skills and expertise in seafood preparation
  • Solid knowledge of sushi techniques and Japanese ingredients
  • Food Safety Certification (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Creative approach to plating and presentation

Physical Requirements
