Supply Chain Officer

Position Overview

To provide support to Supply Planning function and communicate Supply Chain Insights. The role will have accountability within the company’s supply plan, ensuring continuous availability of products for sale and optimal inventory management. The role will also support the achievement of the company’s planned objectives i.e., governance, revenue, expense, and profit, by ensuring short term & long-term plans are executed daily, weekly, monthly and annually to achieve the required objectives set by the company.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse historical sales trends, root cause drivers and monitor sales variances to generate an optimal supply plan for the order generation process and replenishment.
  • Manage and provide performance reports relating to supply chain, including forecast reasonability validation, inventory usage trends, purchase target tracking, inventory carrying costs, fill rate, inventory status, andstock availability.
  • Review activities across operations, warehouse, and sales to identify and report on weekly critical order prioritization to reduce stock outs.
  • Lead supply chain operational alignment meetings to support efficient optimization of warehouse capacity, and minimization of operational costs, such as demurrage, rent and external storage.
  • Manage and mitigate out of stock occurrences by evaluating root cause drivers to propose corrective action plans to drive stock availability to ensure company revenue achievement.
  • Review and manage inventory policies for all products including lead times, minimum quantity orders, order multiples, items coverage and safety stock to ensure continuous stock availability at optimal inventory cost.
  • Track monthly inventory close value projections, to guide decisions to ensure profitability of the company in accordance with the Financial P&L.
  • Strategically analyze sales and inventory trends to continuously improve working capital management and reduce inventory cash expenses across the company.
  • Drive consolidated purchasing across suppliers and/or divisions to achieve savings via economies of scale.
  • Lead monthly supply review meetings to advise Marketing and Executive Management on the inventory profile, stock availability risks and replenish, supply chain metrics and review of SMS Action Plan.
  • Lead inventory efficiency activities on the departmental strategic roadmap, focused on driving improvements and re-engineering through critical measurement and execution of corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve reporting, analysis, processes, and procedures to maximize Supply Chain efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Support, supervise and develop training plans for the reporting incumbent in the execution of their duties to ensure compliance with KPIs.

 Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in supply planning, supply chain management, inventory management, procurement, or logistics roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
  • Advanced proficiency in supply chain planning tools, analytics, and reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices, inventory optimization, and regulatory requirements.
