Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Graduate Trainee with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
Overview / Responsibilites
The Supply Chain Graduate Trainee is responsible for:
Negotiates pricing and other terms of purchase under supervision.
Manage non-strategic suppliers < $5M.
Quotes materials; procures materials, components, equipment and services at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need. Expedites and ensures the timely receipt of materials.
Coordinates purchasing activities with construction and engineering departments to maintain schedule.
Interfaces with Accounting and Receiving to resolve problems.
Works with engineering to recommend new suppliers.
Issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates prices and delivery, issues and/or adjusts purchase orders in a timely manner. Follows-up on orders, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.
Negotiates vendor contracts, as appropriate with supervision.
Follows purchasing and supply chain business processes.
Reviews AVL on a regular basis and updates accordingly.
Supports in commercial close out of projects and accruals activities.
Ensure documentation management process is followed and clear concise files with communication is kept for all critical projects and suppliers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
Competencies and Experience:
Candidates must have received a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree (recent grads welcome)
0-2 years of experience
Possess a 3.0 GPA or higher
Strong analytical skills required/ Engineering degree a +
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite of products including Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, -PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook for email, calendar, contacts, scheduling and task management required
Have excellent organizational skills, keen eye for attention to detail and proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Possess strong verbal communication, writing and interpersonal skills along with the ability to form strong cross-functional relationships
Strong attention to detail while juggling multiple priorities
Possess cross cultural awareness and high emotional intelligence
Be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic and sense of confidentiality
Have a "customer service" orientation with ability to escalate issues when appropriate
Demonstrates ability to work in a fast paced environment with composure, as well as independently.
Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
