Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Insurance Operation Services - Client Data Management team in the capacity of:

 

 

 

Supervisor - Government Data Management 

 

 

Assist with resolving operational and team-related issues to support the accurate and efficient management of data related to government clients, policies and regulatory compliance.

 

 

Work with team and unit management to identify areas for improvement within data management processes, procedures and service standards, and assist with implementing improvement initiatives as required.

 

 

Assist with monitoring the effectiveness of procedures and processes for providing and maintaining accurate and consistent standards, quality, integrity, and security of client data.

 

 

Location: Kingston

 

As a Supervisor - Government Data Management, you will:

 

  • Supervise, coach and mentor direct reports to ensure assignments are completed and Unit targets achieved.
  • Identify training needs, design and conduct training as assigned, recommend, and facilitate professional development programmes.
  • Coordinate workload distribution, prioritise tasks, and ensure timely and effective execution of assignments in line with standard operating procedures and service level agreements.
  • In collaboration with Assistant Manager, maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, training manuals and other client data reference materials; utilise the documentation to assist with the on-boarding/orientation of new team members and monitor compliance within the team.
  • Conduct procedural audits of direct reports monthly.
  • Guide and monitor team members to assist with ensuring the procedures and processes for administering the portfolio of Government Business are followed and adequate to delivering a high level of service to the client.
  • Review job descriptions periodically and make recommendations to Assistant Manager as required.
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date GEASO/GPASO Portfolio filing system and plan files, ensuring groups are accurately kept within the assigned portfolios.
  • Monitor databases to ensure timely and accurate uploads on GIAS as changes are communicated by clients.
  • Continuously monitor data management activities related to government business to ensure compliance with company policies, standards of service, procedures, data privacy and other relevant business legislation, healthcare and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor activities within team to ensure prompt and effective communication with clients, addressing inquiries and concerns in line with company policy and service level standards.
  • Investigate and resolve escalated client queries, complaints and disputes from groups within portfolio, further escalating more complex matters and collaborating with relevant departments as needed.
  • Drive innovative changes within the Unit to improve systems, processes and procedures geared toward operational efficiency
  • Contribute to the development and execution of data handling and processing strategies to align Unit work and team performance to overall company strategy, goals and objectives.
  • Participate in goal setting, workforce and succession planning activities and work with team to ensure agreed plans are executed
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Three (3) years’ working experience in data management, data analytics or a related field, with at least one (1) year spent at the supervisory level, preferably in the operations division of a life or health insurance company.
  • Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI), Health Insurance Associate (HIA) or Associate Customer Service (ACS) designations.
  • Supervisory or Management training is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of local Data Privacy legislation.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Excellent supervisory skills and sound knowledge of industrial relations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyse data and make recommendations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and listening, skills, with the ability to communicate technical data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Sound knowledge of data protection and other business laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and data lifecycle processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Government business portfolio and other Group Life and Health Insurance policy contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of insurance products, processes, procedures and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in CRM software, data management software, tools and/or technology systems and databases.
  • Excellent attitude to client service and teamwork, and the ability to address and resolve client issues effectively.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principles.
