Supervisor, Disbursements - Chaguanas

The Supervisor, Disbursements oversees the loan disbursement process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. They verify documentation and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all disbursements meet policy, regulatory, and approved credit requirements

Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Disbursements is responsible for overseeing the loan disbursement process within the Credit Administration Unit, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency. This role involves verifying loan documentation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that disbursements are processed in accordance with company policies, regulatory guidelines and approved credit terms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loan Disbursement & Verification:
  • Supervise and ensure timely and accurate loan disbursements in compliance with approved credit policies.
  • Review and validate loan documentation, security instruments, and conditions precedent before disbursement.
  • Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Legal teams to resolve discrepancies in loan documentation.
  • Ensure that loan disbursements align with approved terms, including interest rates, repayment schedules, and collateral requirements.
• Loan Maintenance & Reporting:
  • Ensure all other loan maintenance functions are executed accurately and within SLA.
  • Ensure all reports are executed accurately and within SLA.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for loan disbursement-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports related to disbursement activity and operational challenges.
• Risk & Compliance Management:
  • Monitor adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all disbursement activities for audit and compliance purposes.
• Process Optimization:
  • Drive process improvements in loan disbursement to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify roadblocks and improve workflows and overall quality of loan data stored in T24.
• Team Supervision & Coordination:
  • Lead and mentor a team of disbursement officers, ensuring efficient workflow and task delegation.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, risk awareness and accountability within the unit.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on policies, procedures and system updates.
  • Foster a high performing culture by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring service quality.
• Assists with other duties as required.

Qualifications (Education & Certification):

• Associate degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience and Knowledge:

• Minimum five (5) years’ banking experience with two (2) years relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of banking practices and procedures
• Strong knowledge of credit policies, regulatory frameworks and loan disbursement procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
