The General Superintendent is responsible for all activities across all projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures.
Our client is seeking to fill the position of a Superintendent (Construction)

Pre-Construction
• Assist VP, Project Executive, and Project Manager in establishing and managing Owner
expectations and criteria.
• Participate in development of project budget/GMP, staffing requirements, and value
engineering.
• Review drawings, specifications, design, and other pertinent project information including
subcontractor agreements.
• Assist in identifying subcontractors, developing bid packages and scopes of work.
• Participate in pre-bid conferences, scoping, selecting, and awarding contracts.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Owner contract.
Project Startup
• Provide on-site direction and logistics when preparing construction sites.
• Participate in trade pre-construction meetings.
• Provide input for development of purchasing schedule and long-lead items.
• Coordinate site layout, utilities, mobilization of team, and obtaining permits.
Construction
• Assist in developing overall project schedule and maintain working knowledge of contractual
time requirements.
• Engage subcontractors in schedule development and adjustments throughout the project.
• Identify schedule risks and manage subcontractors to prevent schedule impacts.
• Prepare two and three-week look-ahead schedules and special purpose schedules.
• Measure and maintain progress against schedule by coordinating subcontractors and project
team, including architects, engineers, and owner representatives.
• Oversee and supervise the actual physical construction of the project in strict accordance with
contract documents.
• Monitor and inspect work performed by employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Verify and enforce safety compliance with all trades; perform quality control with quality walks
on and off site.
• Plan reports, work-arounds, shutdowns, tie-ins, and resolve disputes.
• Provide direction and day-to-day coordination of trade contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
to ensure high-quality work meeting the approved project schedule.
• Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, owner representatives, architects,
subcontractors, and vendors.
Reporting / Financial
• Review and sign off on subcontractor progress draws, supplier and/or vendor invoices.
• Monitor and stay current with overall financial activity and impact to project (billings,
payments, change orders, potential change orders).
• Review and approve all job expenditures (including miscellaneous items).
• Evaluate risks, loss control, and safety management with project team.
Corporate Activities
• Participate in general recruiting by representing the company well and notifying the executive
team of potential candidates.

• Participate in industry-related organizations.
• Participate in project-related PR events.
• Seek positive PR opportunities.
• Provide input on company promotions, opportunities, and business development.
