Job Summary

The Student Support Officer is responsible for delivering comprehensive assistance to students throughout their academic journey. This role includes providing guidance on academic and personal development matters, coordinating support services, and ensuring that students have timely access to the resources, interventions, and referrals necessary for their success. The officer plays a key role in fostering a supportive, student-centered environment that promotes engagement, wellbeing, and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement proactive strategies to engage students and promote their academic success

  • This includes designing and executing student engagement initiatives, academic support programmes, and early-intervention systems that foster motivation, improve retention, and enhance overall student performance.
  • The officer will analyse student needs, track progress, and collaborate with faculty and departments to ensure students receive structured, timely, and effective support.

Facilitate the coaching and mentoring of students whose behaviours negatively impact their academic success

  • The officer will provide targeted behavioural coaching and mentoring to at-risk students, addressing issues such as absenteeism, low motivation, disruptive conduct, or personal challenges that hinder academic progress.
  • This involves conducting one-on-one sessions, developing individualized improvement plans, liaising with lecturers, and making referrals to counselling or other support services as needed.
  • The goal is to guide students toward positive behavioural change, improved self-management, and sustained academic achievement.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Public Administration or a related discipline from a recognised and accredited institution.

Experience

3-5 years relevant work experience interacting with clients/students from diverse backgrounds.

                                                                                                                         OR

 Associate degree in Public Administration/Business Administration or Management from a recognised and accredited  institution

5-7 years experience in a similar capacity.

Location - Providenciales 

Annual Salary:    US$45,992.00 - US$53,336.00

 

Overseas recruits are eligible for a Housing Allowance of US$10,200.00 per annum. A settling-in loan and 10% gratuity upon successful completion of the contract of engagement.
