Overview:
Our client is a leading regional engineering consultancy serving Barbados, the Caribbean, and global markets. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to add to the team.
This position is best suited for a driven professional with advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural drafting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with engineers while independently handling drafting assignments to ensure project timelines are met.
• Create thorough and accurate construction drawings, supporting projects from initial concept through to final construction stages.
• Organize and update comprehensive plan sets and drawing details with limited supervision.
• Standardize and uphold project-specific drafting practices and protocols.
• Coordinate and review drafting work from other technicians to ensure consistency and quality control.
• Provide drafting-related technical assistance as required throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all drawings (internal and client-facing) are kept current and follow company documentation standards
Requirements
• Diploma or Associate Degree in drafting, building technology, or a similar discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience is ideal (a minimum of 5 years will be considered for outstanding candidates).
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is essential; experience with 3D modeling is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete detailing; familiarity with precast systems, structural steel, and timber is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a high-paced environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
• Proven experience managing commercial and residential projects of various sizes, from small to large-scale.
