The Stores Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering stores, ensuring the accurate and timely supply of parts, tools, and consumables to support maintenance and engineering teams.

 

The  Stores Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering stores, ensuring the accurate and timely supply of parts, tools, and consumables to support maintenance and engineering teams. This role includes supervising store personnel, managing inventory systems, maintaining stock accuracy, and optimizing stores efficiency in alignment with maintenance schedules and plant operations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Engineering Stores team, including Stores Coordinators and Assistants.

  • · Manage inventory levels of spares, tools, and consumables, ensuring critical stock is maintained to avoid operational delays.
  • · Monitor and control stock movements in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • · Lead and execute periodic stock counts, audits, and reconciliations.
  • · Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuance of all engineering and maintenance-related materials.
  • · Develop and enforce procedures for proper storage, labeling, handling, and disposal of materials.
  • · Work closely with the Maintenance and Procurement teams to forecast stock requirements and plan for procurement.
  • · Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards in stores areas.
  • · Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • · Maintain records and generate reports on inventory status, usage trends, supplier performance, and cost control.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to stores staff.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stores operations and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure stores support for urgent breakdowns and plant shutdowns as required.         

  • · Liaise with vendors and suppliers for efficient order tracking and delivery follow-ups.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Technical diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • · 4+ years’ experience in engineering or industrial stores, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • · Strong working knowledge of CMMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Maximo) and inventory systems.

· Familiarity with engineering components, MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) items, and maintenance planning
