The Stores Clerk II is charged with the responsibility of receiving and recording Stores Inventory items such as micro, raw food and feed ingredients, spares, consumables, and packaging materials delivered by suppliers.

JOB OVERVIEW:

 

The Stores Clerk II is charged with the responsibility of receiving and recording Stores Inventory items such as micro, raw food and feed ingredients, spares, consumables, and packaging materials delivered by suppliers and informing NFM users of the receipt of items ordered by them.  The Clerk ensures suppliers invoices are submitted on a timely basis to Finance for processing and may also be requested by Purchasing to liaise with the relevant local suppliers on delivery issues.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Receives, verifies and unloads all Stores Inventory items delivered, as required through the use of a forklift and/or other material handling equipment
  • Updates the computerized inventory system records for all received items
  • Prepares invoices for supplier payments and submits to Finance dept on a timely basis
  • Liaises with suppliers as required by Purchasing for resolution of issues
  • Generates weekly and monthly reports on the outstanding and submitted supplier invoices sent to the Finance dept
  • Promptly Informs User dept of receipt of Job/Project items and issues these to the relevant dept
  • Conducts weekly, monthly and ad hoc stock counts as required
  • Undertakes periodic cleaning and related maintenance of Stores to meet SQF standards
  • Operates the forklift, in a safe manner for loading and unloading vehicles
  • Performs other Stores related duties as may be required

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Requires work on a rotational shift system including weekends and holidays as required; Exposure to dusty, wet, hot and noisy environments; Some work areas may be air-conditioned; Tasks may require working at heights; Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

 

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must wear all safety gear, personal protective equipment and uniforms provided by the Company, at all times while on duty
  • Adherence to all Company safety policies and procedures is mandatory

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Five (5) CXC/GCE subjects including Mathematics and English Language
  • Certificate in Purchasing/Procurement/Inventory Management from a recognized institution
  • Certificate in Inventory Control and/or Stores will be an asset
  • Must be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Two to Three years work experience in a Stores environment
