Retail Store Manager

DESCRIPTION

A company specializing in Furniture and Accessories for the Retail and Hospitality industries is seeking an energetic and self-driven Retail Store Manager based in Kingston, but must be able to visit Montego Bay store at least once per quarter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving growth through increased sales of existing product lines. 
  • Leading business development initiatives, including identifying, evaluating, and introducing new product lines to market. 
  • Reviewing and updating existing and implementing company-wide policies and procedures to support operational eƯiciency and growth. 
  • Managing day-to-day retail operations, including staƯ supervision, customer service, merchandising, and inventory control. 
  • Developing and overseeing marketing strategies, including coordination with external social media partners to ensure campaigns are relevant, timely, and aligned with stock levels and in-store promotions. 
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures that improve eƯiciency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Carrying out HR functions, including hiring, training and termination of staƯ and Liaising with Payroll staƯ at HQ. Also includes conducting annual performance reviews, setting realistic sales targets for staƯ, and implementing motivational initiatives to encourage performance and retention. 
  • Provide quarterly reports on progress, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  • Travel: Required to visit Montego Bay store at least once per quarter 
  • Facilitating purchasing activities, by: o Using feedback from sales staƯ and customers to align purchasing decisions with customer needs. 
  • Monitoring market trends to ensure product oƯerings remain competitive and relevant. 
  • Add store inventory, cycle counts and inventory integrity 
  • Coordinating with purchasing to ensure purchases in advance of key business cycles (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, summer, and Christmas). 
  • Reporting directly to the [Owner/CEO/Board of Directors].

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Business or Management
  • 2-3 years experience in retail sales management or customer service management.
  • Management or team leadership experience
  • History of demonstrated success in meeting sales goals
  • Working in a fast pace and competitive environment is preferred

KNOWLEDGE

  • standard retail customer service; sales policies and procedures
  • business management, finance and accounting, budget planning
  • computer and office software, including Microsoft Office
  • Point of sale software experience preferred
