JOB SUMMARY

The Social Media Specialist will be expected to create and administer content on all social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, build an audience and maintain customer engagement.

All activities must be geared towards maintaining the highest levels of service to all internal and external stakeholders and clients, must be sensitive to children’s issues, must conform to the guidelines and standards set by The Authority and to all legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Create engaging and meaningful digital content, consistent with the Authority’s brand identity, on all social media platforms, writing and editing social media posts, increasing customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
  2. Plan, manage and execute social media initiatives/campaigns.
  3. Organise and manage a high volume of social media posts through the creation of a social media calendar.
  4. Engage with social media followers and provide responses to queries in a timely manner, based on the Authority’s messages.
  5. Use analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the Authority’s Search Engine Optimisation and customer engagement, and suggest content optimisation.
  6. Prepare monthly reports on social media marketing efforts.
  7. Suggest recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
  8. Stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
  9. Perform other related duties.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in professional social media management or a related role.
  • Any other equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of social media management and strategy.
  • Ability to use various Search Engine Optimisation and analytics software.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent critical and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
