You will work closely with cruise line representatives, tour guides, support staff, and local partners to ensure that all tours are operated safely, efficiently, and at the highest level of guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Tour Coordination: Organize and oversee the daily shore excursion schedule for cruise ship guests, ensuring timely departures and smooth coordination with port schedules.
Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for guests and cruise line representatives, delivering outstanding service and resolving any issues or requests.
Guest Briefings: Lead pre-tour briefings, communicate itineraries and safety protocols, and ensure guests are well-informed and comfortable.
Logistics and Scheduling: Manage all aspects of tour logistics—including transportation, equipment, and refreshments—to support operational efficiency.
Team Coordination: Supervise tour guides, drivers, and support staff; coordinate schedules and shifts; foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.
Safety Protocols: Enforce safety and environmental standards across all excursions; be prepared to implement emergency protocols if needed.
Cruise Line Liaison: Maintain strong communication with cruise line shore excursion teams to align with their standards and expectations.
Inventory Oversight: Monitor inventory levels for all tour supplies and ensure readiness and replenishment as required.
Feedback Collection: Solicit and analyze guest feedback to inform service improvements and enhance the overall excursion experience.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new excursion opportunities, partnerships, and product offerings.
Build and maintain relationships with local vendors and attractions.
Develop proposals and packages tailored to cruise lines and independent travelers.
Collaborate with management on growth strategies and revenue targets.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in the tourism, hospitality, or customer service industry, ideally in shore excursion coordination or tour operations.
Business Acumen: Proven ability to identify opportunities, build partnerships, and grow service offerings.
Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Guest-Focused: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, solutions-oriented approach.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, aligned with cruise ship schedules.
Local Knowledge: Strong familiarity (or willingness to learn) the island’s culture, history, and key attractions, with a passion for sharing them with guests.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in outdoor environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with cruise lines or in high-volume tourism operations.
Experience in sales, business development, or partnership management within the tourism industry.
Familiarity with the Caribbean cruise industry and guest expectations.
