Position Summary

The Ship Agent acts as the primary representative of the vessel owner, operator, or charterer while the vessel is in port. This role ensures smooth coordination of all port activities, cargo operations, and regulatory clearances, maintaining compliance with port authority, customs, and immigration requirements. The Ship Agent serves as the key liaison between the vessel, terminal, and local authorities to achieve safe, timely, and cost-effective turnaround of vessels.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel arrivals, berthing, and departures with Port Authority, pilots, customs, and immigration.
• Arrange and monitor cargo operations, stevedoring, bunkering, waste disposal, and other port services.
• Prepare and submit arrival/departure documentation (port clearance, cargo manifest, crew list, etc.).
• Maintain constant communication with vessel masters, charterers, and ship owners during port stay.
• Manage crew changes, medical visits, and repatriation when required.
• Handle disbursement accounts (DA), vendor invoices, and ensure cost control on all vessel-related expenses.
• Report daily vessel status updates and generate arrival/departure reports for internal and client use.
• Resolve operational issues quickly to minimize vessel delay and additional costs.
• Ensure compliance with ISPS, HSE, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Support marketing and client relations by maintaining high service standards and professional representation.
