The Store Supervisor, under the direction of the Store Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the retail store operations.

 
JOB SUMMARY

The Shift Lead, under the direction of the Store Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the retail store operations. He/she must develop and maintain staff of the highest calibre and integrity. The incumbent is required to build strong customer relations with external and internal customers ensuring alignment with the company’s core values, Accountability, Care and Trust.

JOB DUTIES
  • Under the direction of the Store Manager oversees the operations of the retail store, opening/closing/rosters/changing shifts.
  • Supervises retail staff, among which includes persons on the shop floor, bakery and receiving.
  • Implements and executes the Company’s policies and procedures in respect of cash management, store security and inventory shrink/damages/expiries control.
  • Supervises and executes the inventory process including receiving, stocking, pricing integrity, merchandising, labour and other operational processes to Company standards.
  • Responsible for effective and proper procedures for receiving all products entering the store including verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity and checking product temperatures as needed.
  • Processing Direct (Van Sales) Store Deliveries on a timely basis, ensuring Purchase Orders are processed before receipt of goods, the accurate receipt and posting of invoices and preparation for Accounts Payables.
  • Ensure that goods, packaging and bakery items are promptly off loaded and stored neatly in appropriate areas – chillers, freezers, refrigerators, shelves and storeroom.
  • Check inventory daily for damages and expiries and count inventory for audit purposes and assist in the management of damages, expiries and shrinkage.
  • Processing outbound inventory shipments, including defective, damaged and expired merchandise to vendors.
  • Ensuring goods return orders are processed and credit notes are received from vendors and attached to goods return orders before dispatch to Accounts Department for all returns to Vendors.
  • Assisting with vendor management by providing delivery service reports, vendor fulfilment reports and any other relevant data.
  • Participates in Store’s quarterly stock counts, investigating and analysing variances and ensuring areas of improvement are addressed successfully.
  • Upkeeps inventory management standards including proper housekeeping of all inventory and inventory related areas. Ensures products are clean and ready to be displayed.
  • Performs and supervises replenishment and merchandising according to planograms, ensuring the implementation, sets, resets and revisions.
  • Maintains health and safety measures and store’s cleanliness.
  • Ensures pricing is correct and price tags are always accurate and visible to customers.
  • Works on store displays and executes all store specific promotional and marketing programs as directed.
  • Receives exposure to analysis of financial and performance data for the retail store and analyses financial statements in order to enhance profit making opportunities. Under direction of Store Manager works with the store team towards the achievement of monthly quarterly and annual sales, and profitability and other financial and non-financial targets.
  • Greets customers and offer assistance with products and services.
  • Follows sales and production planning standards and ensures that the bakery department achieves the standards of performance as outlined in the work plan.
  • Plan and order bakery ingredients, raw material, and products according to work plan and standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
  • Follow all inventory control procedures to maximize product freshness, quality, turnover and availability for maximum sales.
  • Ensures quality protection, accuracy and product rotation.
  • Ensures that all new employees receive proper training and supervision and ensures correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage and rotation of products and building of displays.
  • Under direction of Store Manager executes 30-day training plan and monitors employee performance continuously.
  • Monitors performance improvement plans for all employees and continuously evaluate self-on-the- job performance.
  • Coach, counsel, discipline and train employees under the direction of the Store Manager and within the guidelines of the Company’s policies, procedures and established practices.
  • Preside over staff meetings, e.g. pre-shift meetings and general staff meetings.
  • Help, drive, motivate and encourage retail sales staff to achieve sales targets.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned to assist in meeting the Company’s objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related disciple.
  • At least 2 years’ previous retail or customer service experience.
  • At least 1 year experience using inventory management systems including ordering, receiving and analysis of shrink.
  • Computer Literacy
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
