Sheet Metal Mechanic (HVAC / Ductwork) – Relocation to Bermuda

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable mechanical contractor in Bermuda, seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with solid ductwork experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality installations and is open to relocating for a long-term role.

Main Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork systems in line with SMACNA standards
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and layouts to accurately plan and execute installations
• Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal components using appropriate tools and machinery
• Carry out on-site installations, ensuring proper alignment, sealing, and finishing of duct systems
• Perform welding and joining of black iron and stainless steel where required
• Inspect completed work, troubleshoot issues, and carry out adjustments to ensure system performance
• Work collaboratively with HVAC teams and other trades to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard

Minimum Qualifications

• Recognised sheet metal / HVAC trade qualification or apprenticeship (or international equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in ductwork fabrication and installation
• Demonstrable knowledge of SMACNA standards and industry best practices
• Proven ability to work independently across all stages of installation
• Verifiable employment history with strong work references
• Ability to meet Bermuda work permit requirements, including supporting documentation
• Willingness and ability to complete an English language proficiency test if required for immigration purposes

Relocation & Requirements

This role is based in Bermuda and requires relocation; associated costs will be covered by client. Due to work permit regulations, successful applicants will be required to complete an English language proficiency test.
