Settlement Supervisor

SCOPE OF JOB: 
 
Assignment of securities to Trades within regulatory and company guidelines 
Assists in the end-of-day processing for all Departments as directed 
Records information in Securities Register and in the Seal Book 
Generates client statements & w/tax certificates 
Follows up and ensures withholding tax certificates are received from brokers, banks and other Prescribed persons. 
Prepares withholding tax certificates for investors 
Prepares cover letters for document deliveries/submissions 
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
 
-Enters security allocation on the CSD & KRYS System according to instructions received 
-Responds to queries from the bond traders, and management 
-Participates in the end-of-day processes as directed 
-Corrects errors (e.g., over/under allocations) identified 
-Enters approved purchases and sales of securities on the BOJ’s Central Securities Depository (CSD) system 
-Settles local & overseas Bond Trades 
-Complete correspondence for local & overseas bond trades 
-Enters details of assigned securities on the BOJ’s CSD system 
-Ensures all documents (e.g., contract notes) are properly filed 
-Prepares letters as required for signing 
-Generates client statements on a timely basis 
-Prepares withholding tax certificates to meet agreed deadlines 
-Ensures withholding tax certificates are received from brokers and other prescribed parties on a timely basis to meet submission of quarterly returns 
-Assists in the planning and budgeting process of the company/ department, as  directed 
-Embarks on a career development plan as prepared by the immediate supervisor 
-Is consistently punctual 
-Attends department meetings 
-Applies for leave/time-off in a timely manner giving due consideration to the needs of the department 
-Performs any other duties which may be assigned from time to time 
 
EDUCATION, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
 
-First Degree in Management, Business or Finance or comparable qualification. 
-Licensed by the Financial Services Commission, or a suitable candidate for licensing. 
-Working knowledge of financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon. 
-Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
-Proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications 
-Minimum of two years’ work experience
