Job Opportunity: Service Technician – Business Equipment

Location: Port of Spain
Employment Type: Permanent

Salary: $7,000 TTD + $1,500 TTD Travel Allowance (monthly)


Job Summary

Our client in Port of Spain is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Service Technician to join their Business Equipment Division. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Canon business equipment and other ICT hardware while providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain Canon business equipment and other office((printers, copiers, ICT devices)/ICT hardware.
  • Complete dispatched work orders accurately, efficiently, and within required timelines.
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to supervisors or vendor technical support when necessary.
  • Provide technical support and cost estimates to the Sales team to assist with quotations and future business opportunities.
  • Collect payments from customers upon completion of work orders.
  • Ensure replaced parts from rental equipment are returned for inventory control.
  • Attend scheduled training sessions and remain current with evolving technology.
  • Deliver a professional and positive customer experience while building strong client relationships.
  • Perform other duties aligned with the role as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) CXC subjects, including Mathematics and English.
  • Degree, diploma, certificate, or in Electronics, computing ,Information Technology (IT), ICT, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in electronic servicing, technical support, or office equipment repair is an asset;
  • Familiarity with Canon, Printers ,copiers, business equipment, or ICT hardware is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and basic networking principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven customer service or customer-facing experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
