Senior Systems Administrator

The incumbent is responsible for the storage and safekeeping of information and the storage of back-up files at all external location.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/MAJOR TASKS

 The  Senior Systems Administrator is accountable for the following end results, some of which includes: 

1. T
   1. To effectively liaise with hardware suppliers to ensure all equipment are operating properly.
   2. Ensures daily back-up of information and implement weekly off-site storage of said data.
   3. Manages the Credit Union website.
   4. Assists with the determination of the equipment needs of the various departments.
   5. Monitor and maintain user access levels to ensure confidentiality of members’ information.
   6. Assists in monitoring systems’ performance and recommend changes as appropriate.
   7. Manage user accounts, security policies, and Active Directory/Group Policy Objects.
   8. Provide Systems related training to the Credit Union staff on a needs basis.
   9. Administer, maintain, and monitor servers, storage systems, network devices, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
   10. Oversee patch management, system updates, and antivirus solutions.
   11. Ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical systems.
   12. Maintain system documentation and technical procedures.
   13. Supervises the department in the absence of the ICT Systems Manager.
   14. Be punctual to work daily.
   15. Performs minor equipment repairs.
   16. Respond to user queries in a timely manner.
   17. Any other system related function as determined by the ICT Systems Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The incumbent must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in Computer Science or a related field and have at least a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar function.  MCSE or MCSA would be considered an asset.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Excellent programming skills using VB.NET or C#
• Proficient in Windows Server Administration
• Proficient in web application development using ASP.NET platform
• Knowledge of Unix\Linux administration
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN Communication
• Experience in developing reports using Crystal Reports
