We are seeking Senior Solar Electricians (2)

Qualifications

The successful candidates have more than 7 years of post-apprenticeship experience and hold relevant qualifications. Applicants must also:

• Be able to read schematic drawings and plans
• Familiarity with network cabling and low voltage systems monitoring is a plus
• Prior experience within the solar / renewable energy market is advantageous
• Solid understanding of all regulations as they pertains to operational safety
• Ability to navigate heights and physically demanding outdoor work

Responsibilities  

The Senior Electrician (SE) will:

• Lead residential and commercial solar installations
• Conduct site visits to assess pre-installation requirements
• Procure equipment as required
• Assemble, install, evaluate, and maintain PV-related electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, grounding apparatus, fixtures and conduit
• Mount inverters and panels, test and install main switches, connect solar panels and inverters and other high – voltage equipment to the buildings’ power supply
• Repair or replace PV related wiring, equipment and fixtures and conduct other standard commercial and residential electrical work. 
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and applicable codes, and be comfortable with high voltage circuits.
• Be up to date with requirements and best practice relating to solar PV design, installation and change implementation to ensure installations meet standards.
