Job Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for strategically leading, planning, and managing the sales operations across the Trinidad & Tobago territory. The role drives revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability by leading sales and customer service teams, optimizing distribution channels, and executing effective sales strategies aligned with company objectives.

This position requires a strong understanding of customer behaviour, market dynamics, and financial performance, with responsibility for sales forecasting, budgeting, pricing strategy, and achieving revenue, margin, and volume targets.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage effective sales strategies and programs for the Trinidad & Tobago market.
  • Set annual sales objectives, including forecasting sales volumes and establishing quotas for team members.
  • Drive achievement of sales targets, including revenue, margin, and volume performance in line with company goals.
  • Lead, coach, train, and motivate the sales and customer service teams to ensure consistent KPI achievement.
  • Monitor sales performance and customer engagement activity to ensure optimal coverage and service delivery.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and economic conditions to guide pricing, product mix, and sales strategy.
  • Manage and evaluate distribution channels, ensuring performance optimization and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct monthly sales forecasting, including product mix, revenue projections, and performance reporting.
  • Identify and implement new sales initiatives and market expansion opportunities.
  • Recommend product and service improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
  • Manage key customer relationships and conduct regular business reviews to strengthen partnerships and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance sales and customer service efficiency.
  • Contribute to corporate and domestic marketing initiatives and execution.
  • Prepare and present regular sales and performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning processes related to sales performance and revenue targets.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by senior management.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, Management Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior sales leadership role or similar capacity.
  • Proven experience managing sales teams, budgets, and revenue targets.
  • Experience in sales forecasting, financial planning, and performance analysis.
  • Certification in Customer Service or related professional development is an advantage.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong proficiency in sales strategy development, budgeting, and financial performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a systematic approach to decision-making.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., Sage Accounting preferred).
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies, product mix optimization, and revenue management.
  • Understanding of Trinidad & Tobago market conditions, tariffs, and distribution frameworks (advantageous).
  • Ability to interpret statistical reports and commercial performance data.
