“Transforming lives positively through lasting relationships”

Senior Relationship Manager

Position Summary:
The Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for the strategic stewardship of high-value, ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW), and institutional client portfolios. The role delivers sophisticated, risk-aligned advisory and Asset Management–driven investment solutions, including discretionary and non-discretionary mandates, to support enterprise AUM growth, client retention, and cross-product penetration. The SRM operates as a trusted advisor and governance leader, coordinating closely with Asset Management, Investment Banking, Markets & Trading, Wealth Advisory, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to deliver integrated, institutional-grade client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic management of UHNW, institutional, pension, and complex multi-entity portfolios using formal Investment Policy Statements (IPS), mandates, and governance frameworks.
  • Partner closely with Asset Management to design, implement, and review discretionary and advisory portfolio strategies, including mutual funds, managed accounts, alternatives, and pension products.
  • Deliver advanced advisory on asset allocation, portfolio construction, rebalancing, liquidity planning, FX strategy, and capital deployment aligned with Asset Management views and risk parameters.
  • Drive sustainable AUM growth and client retention through relationship depth, Asset Management solutions, and institutional referrals—not transactional sales.
  • Interpret and communicate portfolio performance, market outlooks, manager positioning, and risk analytics to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Relationship Managers, strengthening advisory quality, governance discipline, documentation standards, and compliance awareness.
  • Oversee complex client and institutional onboarding, ensuring full KYC, suitability, mandate clarity, and zero regulatory or audit deficiencies.
  • Monitor portfolio risk, mandate adherence, and suitability, coordinating remediation with Asset Management, Risk, and Compliance teams.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client matters and represent Mayberry at senior-level client engagements, institutional meetings, and strategic events.
  • Contribute thought leadership on market trends and investment strategy to clients and stakeholders.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field; CFA designation or progress toward CFA is an advantage.
  • Jamaican Securities Course Certification.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in relationship management, wealth advisory, institutional sales, or investment services, with proven success managing high-value or institutional client portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of Jamaican and international capital markets, portfolio construction, asset allocation, performance measurement, liquidity management, FX strategy, and private credit or alternative investments.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with discretionary portfolio management, investment mandates, fund structures, and institutional Asset Management solutions.
  • Working knowledge of FSC regulations, AML, suitability standards, IFRS, BOJ governance, and complex institutional onboarding processes.
  • Ability to structure multi-asset, multi-product investment solutions, conduct risk assessments, and defend advisory recommendations under regulatory or audit scrutiny.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills, with strategic thinking, sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and high professional integrity.
