SENIOR MERCHANDISER

 

Location: East-West Corridor

Sector: Retail

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a merchandising-related field; supervisory experience is considered an asset
  • Minimum of four (4) CXC/CSEC passes
  • Possession of a reliable, working vehicle
  • Advanced knowledge of merchandising standards, planogram implementation and FIFO rotation practices
  • Strong familiarity with sales procedures and general billing software
  • Working knowledge of competitor products and market merchandising practices
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional and well-mannered demeanor
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Execute all merchandising activities to ensure optimal product availability, visibility and presentation at the retail level
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure accurate pricing and shelf signage
  • Perform consistent stock rotation using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method
  • Manage near-date, damaged and expired goods in strict accordance with company policies
  • Monitor and resolve issues identified during regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Provide guidance, coaching and constructive feedback to Merchandisers within the assigned territory
  • Support the onboarding and training of new or contract staff
  • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with retailers
  • Assist the Sales team with customer visits, order billing and payment collections as required
  • Ensure all shelves and displays are clean, organized and meet established aesthetic standards
