The Senior Manager – Financial Reporting & Analysis leads the delivery of accurate, timely financial results and ensures strong internal controls across Sygnus Group. This role also supports the AVP – Finance on all regulatory and financial reporting matters.

Senior Manager - Financial Reporting & Analysis 

Overview:

The Senior Manager - Financial Reporting & Analysis is accountable for the achievement of optimum, accurate and timely financial results of Sygnus Capital Group, and its related entities through external and internal reporting, implementation of adequate controls and frequent reviews of financial performance against planned objectives.

The Senior Manager -Financial Reporting & Analysis is also responsible for providing support to the Assistant Vice President - Finance (AVP) on regulatory and financial reporting matters.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the integrity of financial reporting across the Group by reviewing trial balances, analyzing variances, and ensuring accuracy in the general ledger 

•  Analyze and report financial performance trends monthly, providing strategic insights and variance analysis to the CFO and executive team.

• Drive monthly financial analysis, highlighting key variances, trends, and insights to inform executive decisions.

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, board presentations, and internal management reports.

• Manage the regulatory reporting for all entitities, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, and Group policies.

• Own the budgeting process, delivering robust financial forecasts and analyses to support strategic goals.

• Strengthen internal controls by designing and enhancing financial systems, procedures, and reporting frameworks.

• Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards, internal policies, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with key departments to resolve reporting issues and embed improvements in finance operations.

• Lead improvements in financial systems and reporting processes, with a focus on automations, efficiency and best practices. 

• Manage audit readiness across the Group, coordinating deliverables and resolving audit issues proactively.

• Evaluate new products, services, and agreements to ensure proper accounting treatment and financial reporting.

• Take ownership of key finance projects, supporting the AVP – Finance and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.

• Promote a high-performance finance culture, focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Relevant Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Accounting designation (ACCA or CPA) required.
• At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role, with 5+ years in audit and management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and IFRS/IAS for financial institutions.
• Broad experience in accounting systems, financial analysis, investment management, and regulatory compliance.
• Skilled at interpreting regulations and developing policies and training.
• Expert in interpreting complex financial data and delivering financial reports and performance analysis.
• General understanding of international financial markets and Caribbean economies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• High integrity, entrepreneurial mindset, innovative, and strong work ethic.
