About the Role

The Senior Manager, Environmental Credit Risk Management (ECRM) facilitates the development, ongoing enhancement, implementation and day to day execution of policies, standards, processes pertaining to the management of environmental, climate, social risks and opportunities in the Bank’s credit management & lending portfolios and supports the Bank’s satisfactory performance and reputation related to environmental, social and climate risk. The incumbent supports the Associate Director and business, providing subject matter expertise / guidance on environmental, climate and social risks, supporting analysis for recommendations and facilitating Credit Risk Management Department's (CRMD's) preparedness related to ECRM matters in the credit portfolio. 


About Success

  • Identifies and analyses ECRM requirements/workflow, highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manages and implements environmental and climate change risk initiatives, conducting clients’ due diligence, regulatory assessments, setting up environmental and climate risk processes to ensure alignment with internal ECRM policy.  
  • Identifies and manages climate and environmental issues transmitted to the Bank through its credit portfolio.
  • Prepares, reviews and recommends responses to regulatory requests, related to the Bank’s credit portfolio.
  • Develops and implements risk mitigation strategies, processes and training tools related to environmental and climate credit risk ensuring the application of appropriate solutions.
  • Creates and maintains environmental credit risk management data repositories and transactional tools.

 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental management, sustainability, finance, statistics, economics, organizational development, or related field. CFA\ ESG Investing Certificate and / or GARP SCR would be an asset.
  • Environmental management experience acquired through formal academic training and / or at least 3 years of hands-on project related work.
  • ·Experience in using analytical software solutions and tools to manage and interpret complex data sets effectively, including Python / R, SQL, Power BI. 
  • Proven ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups and influence change successfully.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to shift focus between granular analysis and the broader  perspective.
  • Problem solving experience and ability to think critically with proven positive results.
