The Senior Engineering and Maintenance Technician - Drawing & Documentation develops, reviews, updates and/or administers all plant documentation and associated activities.

Job Summary

The Senior Engineering and Maintenance Technician 1 - Drawing & Documentation develops, reviews, updates and/or administers all plant documentation and associated activities, towards ensuring all plant technical documents are current and maintained, in accordance with company objectives and industry standards. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers the day-to-day functioning of the Drawing Office to ensure efficient operations and provides timely support to plant personnel whenever drawing office requests are generated
  • Assists with ensuring all libraries on the division (physical and virtual) have plant documentation that is organised, available and updated, in either or both its manual and electronic formats, as required, and are easily accessible to plant personnel, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Conducts inspection of all libraries within the Division to ensure they are well maintained, neat and orderly.  Investigates, reports and corrects any related non-conformances.
  • Produces/amends drawings and revisions to accurately capture modifications in accordance with company approved processes, e.g. Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Performs field verification walks with plant personnel to confirm the accuracy of proposed changes to drawings and documents as necessary.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance activities on Drawing office equipment, such as Main Drawing office printers, plotters, shredders, scanners etc. as per schedule.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Five (5) GCE Ordinary level / CXC or CSEC General level subjects, inclusive of Mathematics, English Language.
  • AUTOCAD Level 1 or 2 Certification from an accredited institution.
  • Technical Drawing, GMED or other related certification will be an asset
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in a technical environment with archival systems, technical drawing development, and records management.

Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of technical drawing development, amendments for Plant and Non- Plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Documentation Systems Management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite especially MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Working knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

Skills and abilities

  • Proficient in the use of AUTOCAD.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Record keeping.
  • Ability to research and recommend drawing tools and application software to optimize drawing production.
  • Ability to read and develop plot plans, isometrics, and other Plant documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and multiple projects.
