Senior Costing Accountant

Together with the Costing team, the incumbent will perform tasks related to the posting, analyzing and collection of outstanding balances, while ensuring all data related to the costing of vehicles, equipment and parts are accurate.

The Stewart's Automotive Group is seeking a competent and qualified individual who has a high work ethic and pays  attention to details to fill the position of:

                                       SENIOR COSTING ACCOUNTANT 

The key duties of this position will include:

* The daily maintenance of the cost component accounts for assigned divisions to facilitate the accurate provision of costs relating to the sale of motor vehicles

* Collection of costing information from the Sales Department

* Verifying the accuracy of information provided

* Resolving discrepancies in a timely manner

* Recording of the cost build up for each unit sold

* Recording of vehicle and equipment unit costs for assigned divisions

* Securing relevant documents on a timely basis

* Ensuring the CIF values for units are accurate and keyed to the correct cost accounts

* Recording of the cost build up for each unit sold

* Recording fo vehicle and equipment unit costs for assigned divisions

* Securing relevant shipping documents on a timely basis

* Ensuring the CIF values for units are accurate and keyed to the correct cost accounts

* Completing unit sales invoices for assigned divisions 

* Posting each unit sale to the general ledger

* Entering custom import entries for various marques, daily

* Reconciling of the following accounts for assigned divisions: Unit Inventory Account, Foreign Payables, Unit and Parts 

   in transit account. 

* Assisting with parts costing for the dealerships with the goal of entering data accurately and in compliance with the

  Accounts Department Costing standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.

* A minimum of three years experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.

* Strong understanding of automotive costing principles and practices.

* Proven ability to analyse financial data and indentify cost saving opportunities.

* Excellent  interpersonal and communication skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting software.

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

* Detail oriented and a strong work ethic.
