We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Food & Grocery Division:
SENIOR BRAND MANAGER
Job Purpose:
To work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Promotions, Supply Chain, Logistics, Merchandising and Trade Marketing teams to ensure optimum Brand Equity, Sales, Distribution, Visibility, Price, Placement and Promotion of assigned brands and to enhance the Company’s image as a preferred supplier in the Industry across multiple markets.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Formulates and implements annual marketing plans for assigned brands, ensuring alignment with principal strategy and adaptability for local execution in other markets
- Achieves and monitors monthly sales and gross profit targets in keeping with Departmental objectives, implementing measures to address shortfalls.
- Ensures monthly performance reporting with regional distributors, including sales, distribution, promotions, inventory, and market insights, and consolidates insights for internal and principal review.
- Plans, schedules, and conducts regular regional trade visits to key markets and distributors to review performance, assess execution, strengthen relationships, and identify growth opportunities.
- Manages annual A&P budgets in collaboration with suppliers/principals and Group Product Manager, ensuring disciplined investment tracking and ROI measurement for multiple markets
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers/principals, acting as a key regional point of contact and ensuring timely submission of all required reports
- Monitors and reports on all competitive activity across markets, including appropriate tactical initiatives to counteract such activity
- Works closely with Supply Chain Planners to ensure accurate forecasting, ordering, and availability of assigned brands across markets
- Conducts regular brand sales analysis to understand and document brand trends, ensuring all required corrective actions are developed and implemented
- Conducts ongoing market research and competitive analysis for current products
- Determines the Return On Investment (ROI) for all promotional activities with the use of sales data and Promotional team reports
- Works closely with Sales, Promotions, Merchandising, and Trade Marketing teams to ensure that all promotional activities are executed according to plan, conducting site visits and assisting with execution as required.
- Submits all claims to suppliers/principals promptly, ensuring reimbursements are received
- Trains Sales, Trade Marketing, Merchandising, and Promotions teams on all existing and new brands and provides continuous guidance and assistance as required
- Monitors product expiration dates and damages of assigned brands in the Distribution Centre and implements measures to keep expiries at set minimum targets
- Creates and timely disseminates updated Planograms to the Trade Marketing & Merchandising teams.
- Works closely with Promotions teams to track promotional inventory and execution effectiveness.
Knowledge and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related discipline
- A minimum of three (3) years of similar experience in a FMCG or manufacturing company
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-brand and/or multi-market portfolios, including regional brand management across multiple territories, is considered a strong asset.
- Experience managing multi-brand or multi-market portfolios would be a strong asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
