Senior Accounting Officer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Officer to join our team! In this role, you will oversee the company’s accounting operations and ensure all financial activities are accurate, compliant, and completed on time.

As part of a growing retail organization, you will play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls over cash handling, inventory, and supplier payments — while supporting the management team with timely financial insights.

What you will do?

• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports within set deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
• Review and verify bank reconciliation statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard cash, inventory, and company assets.
• Oversee recording and reconciliation of sales, supplier payments, and expenses.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance support.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA Level II or equivalent certification preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Prior experience in the retail industry is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
