This person will be responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of bank and other assigned accounts.

JOB TITLE: Senior Accounting Officer

REPORTS TO: Assistant Accountant

PURPOSE

This person will be responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of bank and other assigned accounts. Other key duties include extracting and submitting data from electronic processing systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies, preparing bank-related correspondence, and monitoring assigned general ledger accounts

REQUIRED EDUCATION

•  First degree, preferably in accounting or related subject.
•  Level 2 ACCA or equivalent.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a computerised accounting environment within the retail sector.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on MS Excel.
• Experience with Oracle Financials would be an asset.
• Strong organizational/coordination skills and excellent at time management.
• Analytical and problem –solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reconciliation of assigned bank accounts.
• Reconciliation of assigned remittance accounts.
• Extraction and submission of information from Electronic Processing Interface as required.
• Investigation of queries and preparation of bank related correspondence.
• Analysis and monitoring of assigned GL accounts.
