SALARY RANGE: $ $10,422.00

JOB SUMMARY:

To execute routine financial, accounting and pension/payroll support activities and provide customer service to all staff in functional areas of the Department.

 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILTIES:

• Maintains a sound system of internal controls through preparation generation and verification of financial reports/statements/calculations.
• Processes and verifies journals and financial documents for payments/cheques/journals/invoices.
• Reconciles and analyses schedules in accordance with departmental standards.
• Provides customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to queries or refers questions to Supervisor as appropriate.
• Assists in researching, tracking and restoring accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Prepare and update Department Policies and Procedures

EDUCATION, SKILLS & TRAINING NECESSARY FOR THE JOB:

• 5 GCE O'Levels (Grades A-C) or CXC General - Grades I, II and III (1998) (including English Language and Mathematics) or equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in an Accounting and/or Banking environment.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word and Excel and other accounting applications.
• Sound customer service skills
• ACCA Level I or equivalent (asset)
