Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to manage financial reporting, compliance, reconciliations, and cost controls across multiple entities or operational units. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical accounting skills, supervisory experience, and the ability to provide accurate financial insights to management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month‑End

• Prepare and maintain cost and accrual schedules
• Perform and review month‑end reconciliations (AP, AR, bank, and balance sheet accounts)
• Post, review, and approve journal entries and prepayments
• Close accounts for monthly management and board reporting
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Compile audit working papers and support external audits
• Provide ad‑hoc financial and analytical reports

Tax & VAT Compliance

• Reconcile VAT accounts and prepare VAT returns
• Prepare quarterly tax workings
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax and reporting regulations

Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight

• Monitor accounts payable and receivable activities
• Perform vendor reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Review purchase orders and invoices after system entry
• Prepare payouts and process general ledger transactions

Costing, Inventory & Revenue Matching

• Perform cost transfers in accordance with the matching principle
• Reconcile inventory counts and maintain accurate job costings

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets
• Provide financial analysis to support planning and decision‑making
• Participate in financial problem‑solving and process improvement initiatives

Fixed Assets & Property‑Related Costs

• Monitor fixed asset acquisitions and disposals
• Review property‑related expenses and ensure accurate coding

Team Supervision & Internal Controls

• Review and supervise work performed by junior finance staff
• Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Strengthen internal controls and promote best accounting practices
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance
• Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
• Working knowledge of VAT and tax requirements
• Experience supervising or reviewing junior accounting staff
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
