JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and controls within a high-volume, multi-location environment, supporting operational efficiency and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • 4–7 years’ relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in payroll processing
  • Experience in retail, distribution, or manufacturing environments would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and preparation of financial statements
  • Sound understanding of accounting standards and internal controls
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll systems (e.g. Sage 50, Odoo or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with high-volume transactional processing and reporting
  • Knowledge of statutory deductions and local compliance requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong reconciliation and variance analysis skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-location environment

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Prepare and review management accounts and financial reports
  • Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations
  • Manage accounts receivable functions, including credit control and approvals
  • Process and reconcile payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Conduct cost and margin analysis in collaboration with operational teams
  • Monitor financial performance across multiple locations and investigate variances
  • Strengthen internal controls and support audit and compliance activities
  • Assist with month-end close and year-end audit processes
  • Ensure timely statutory filings and regulatory compliance
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to support financial decision-making
  • Supervise or provide guidance to junior accounting staff where required
  • Required to report to several other branch locations in South Trinidad periodically
