Senior Accountant

The successful candidate will be critical in overseeing the financial functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial matters. This includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Preparation of management accounts and regulatory reports
• Review of Journal Entries and expense classifications
• Review of Bank Reconciliations
• Review of sub-ledger reconciliations
• Inter-Company Reconciliations
• Group Reporting
• Preparation of Bank Reconciliations
• Preparation of Audit Schedules
• Co-ordinate and liaise with audit team to ensure timely completion of annual audits
• Review of Audit schedules prepared by Junior Team members
• Timely filing of monthly statutory and withholding tax returns  

 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

•  ACCA or CPA qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role, preferably in financial services industry  or an audit firm

SPECIFIC SKILLS OR COMPETENCES REQUIRED

•  Strong technical accounting background including good working knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS)
• Advanced computing skills, with emphasis on proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel
• Strong audit, investigative and analytical skills
• Ability to be a strong team player
• Working knowledge of Tax Laws in Jamaica.
• Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple, changing and competing priorities
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues, as well as regional and corporate management
• Demonstrated leadership, motivational and talent development skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
