Senior Accountant
Overview:
We are hiring two Senior Accountants to join our Finance team, reporting to the Senior Manager – Finance.
The Senior Accountant(s) will ensure the timely and accurate completion of accounting and financial reporting for assigned entities within the Group. They will also assist with accounts payable, tax compliance, audit deliverables, and other financial and operational activities as required to support the Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the Group’s financial reporting across multiple entities by ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, supported, and reconciled on time.
- Prepare and analyse bank and general ledger reconciliations, intercompany reports, and critical financial data to support management decision-making.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP, statutory requirements, and Group policies.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies, errors, or non-compliance, escalating issues to management as necessary.
- Facilitate the preparation and submission of withholding tax certificates and support all tax compliance activities.
- Coordinate internal and external audit deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strict adherence to deadlines.
- Monitor and control accounts payable processes, ensuring efficiency, appropriate approvals, and regulatory compliance.
- Track banking transactions, resolve anomalies, and liaise with banks to ensure smooth operations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
Relevant Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, Banking or related area.
- Pursung or have completed ACCA Level II/III.
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role, with 2+ years in audit.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and IFRS/IAS for financial institutions.
- Broad experience in accounting systems, financial analysis, investment management, and regulatory compliance.
- Skilled at interpreting regulations and developing policies and training.
- Expert in interpreting complex financial data and delivering financial reports and performance analysis.
- General understanding of international financial markets and Caribbean economies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- High integrity, entrepreneurial mindset, innovative, and strong work ethic.
