Senior Accountant - Credit & Collections

Ensuring that integrity of the sales to collections process and that credit and collections targets are met so as to reduce the risk of bad debts.

Job Title : Senior Accountant – Credit & Collections

Qualifications and Experience:

• ACCA II or MSc Accounting with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Experience in a Food Manufacturing and or Distribution industry will be an asset.
• Proficient in the use of MS Suite of products and working knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

Specific Knowledge (however acquired) Required to Start:

• Sound knowledge of the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
• Sound knowledge of the relevant accounting software packages.
• Sound knowledge of general accepted accounting policies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Determine the monthly collections targets for the sales team.
• Review the salesmen commission calculations before these are sent to the Payroll team.
• Review accounts receivable aging report weekly to identify and address outstanding accounts
• Allocate the credit customers to the collections officers via portfolios, set collections targets respectively and monitor for action.
• Resolve issues that customers raise about the status of their accounts
