SECURITY SUPERVISOR

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent is charged with oversight for the safety and security of both staff and plant on the facility.

The Security Supervisor may also manage and/or implement security protocols/policies in accordance with applicable laws. The incumbent is required to exhibit self-control, be able to accept criticism and maintain composure in highly stressful situations. 

Overall duties

    • Prepares and oversee the daily work schedules, and assignments of security officers.
    • Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
    • Write and submit security reports
    • Ensure all security systems, like the alarms and sensors CCTV are working properly by conducting regular checks
    • Execute any and all directives of the Chief Human Resource Officer, Chief Operations Officer or Chief Execute Officer/Executive Chairman
    • Evaluate, assess and analyse performance of security personnel.
    • To carry out any investigations as required and to ensure reports are completed
    • Initiate disciplinary measures wherever necessary.
    • Maintain all security devices and products in good working condition.
    • Assign work areas for officers to patrol
    • Conduct routine patrols with other officers
    • Develop and implement preventative measures against accidents, thefts and other risks.
    Ensure compliance of applicable policies and regulations while implementing security measures

Specific duties

  • Record and report all lateness and absenteeism
  • Log staff shift’s accurately
  • Account for the issue and return of all keys
  • Report all systems faults as per callout procedures
  • To complete a shift handover report for each shift and arrive at least 15 minutes before shift start
  • To allocate staff to duties and evenly distribute demand for extra work among the team
  • Monitor record and control the movement of personnel, good and vehicles entering and leaving the compound in accordance with the Company’s lawful instruction, policies, practices and procedures.
  • Screen visitors before allowing them to enter the premises, while maintaining access restrictions to unauthorized areas.
  • Conduct random spot checks/unaccounted searches of workers, their vehicles and lockers
  • Ensure that all works conform to the security and safety regulations including the parking regulations, for which you have responsibility.
  • Ensure that all procedures/instructions are effected/enforced whether during or after normal working hours.
  • Maintain proper records, take the appropriate action and report to the Security Supervisor immediately, any breach and/or deviation determined in the performance of the foregoing.

  • Conforms to all established departmental & company policies, procedures & objectives, fulfils the requirements of CGA Ltd.’s SQF Program including but not limited to GMPs, PPE, HACCP, food safety & HSE site protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Eight (8) Years experience as a Security Officer
    • Degree in Security Administration, Business Administration, Management or any other related field
    • Police Certificate of Character
    • CPR and First Aid certifications required within one year of employment.
    Successful completion of a background investigation comparable to the certificate of character.
