The Security Operation’s Officer is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of the security function at all NFM facilities, the conduct of investigations on all security related matters and any other special assignments as and when necessary.

Nature & Scope

The Security Specialist is responsible for directing the activities of the security checkers as well as assisting with the coordination of the contracted security personnel to ensure the protection of the organization’s physical assets, properties, and resources. These responsibilities include assisting with plans for physical security, emergency response, incident management and investigation as well as providing advice and support in addressing security matters.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides daily supervision and monitoring of the performance of the Security Staff in the execution of their duties.
  • Conducts security vulnerability assessments i.e., risk identification and physical security threat assessments.
  • Oversees the execution of security inspections, audits, and random cargo verification surveys (Truck Checks).
  • Oversees routine inspections of Company Security Records.
  • Conducts periodic inspections of security systems including electronic surveillance systems, access control systems, building management systems and other physical security measures.
  • Initiates corrective/remedial actions to facilitate the upgrade or repair to the security systems where required.
  • Oversees the compilation of monthly service reconciliations and security reports.
  • Facilitates the ongoing monitoring of security suppliers via periodic performance reviews.
  • Undertakes investigations related to employee disciplinary and other matters as well as other special duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Completes periodic performance evaluations, performance improvement processes and identify the training needs for staff.
  • The execution of other related duties as may be required by the job function.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Security Administration & Management/ Administration or other related Security Risk Management Studies.
  • Five (5) years demonstrable experience in security supervision and management function.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent report-writing skills
  • Knowledge of Information Security principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong investigative skills
  • Working knowledge of health & safety
  • Sound knowledge of food safety procedures
  • Familiarity with and adherence to Company’s Security Policy
