Security Officer

The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the company's premises and protecting both staff and visitors. In addition, the incumbent is in charge of detecting any suspicious activity and preventing vandalism, theft, or other criminal behavior.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over.
• Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols
• Monitoring surveillance cameras to detect any disruptions or unlawful activities
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informs violators of policy and procedures.
• Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Maintains the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately
• Collaborate with other security officers for effective protection and coverage.
• Any other related duties assigned.

Education/Training & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Basic knowledge of surveillance systems
• Basic Security Training
• 1-2 years’ of relevant experience
• CPR/First Aid Certification would be an asset

• Occasional overtime work
