Security Officer (Contract)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitoring of offsite warehouse staff and daily warehousing operations and activities.
• Regularly checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, stock sheets and deliveries for accuracy.
• Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
• Write and submit security reports
• Ensure all security systems, like the alarms and sensors CCTV are working properly by conducting regular checks
• Record and report all lateness and absenteeism
• Book in staff on shift accurately
• Account for the issue and return of all keys
• Monitor, record and control the movement of personnel, goods and vehicles entering and leaving the compounds in accordance with the Company’s lawful instruction, policies, practices and procedures.
• Screen visitors before allowing them to enter the premises.
• Conduct random spot checks/unaccounted searches of workers, their vehicles and lockers
• Ensure that all works conform to the security and safety regulations including the parking regulations, for which you have responsibility.
• Monitoring and recording of employees and activities as it relates to truck loading or unloading, container loading or unloading, coordinating with the warehouse supervisor the logistical processes, by ensuring the correct quantity, quality of goods are issued or received by preparing relevant documentation
• Monitoring the picking, packing, scheduling and dispatching deliveries (both local and export);
• Performing daily inspections of the warehouses to ensure security and safety of offsite storage conditions and organization;
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by ensuring adherence to security protocols, monitoring and reporting of security breaches;
• Ensure compliance of applicable policies and regulations while implementing security measures
• Be aware of all warehouse operations, protocols and activities;
• Monitor both loading and unloading of shipping containers (as instructed by the Chief Human Resources Officer);
• Performs delivery vehicle inspections for all incoming vehicles at all offsite warehouses.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by ensuring adherence to security protocols, monitoring and reporting of security breaches;
• Conforms to all established departmental and company policies, procedures and objectives, GMPs, food safety and HSE site protocols.
• Undergo any job-related training required by the company as required for the role;
• Immediately report any non-conformances, security or safety breaches relating to warehousing operations to the Chief Human Resources Officer;
• Performs other related tasks and responsibilities as required by the Chief Human Resources Officer;

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• 3-4 years’ experience in a Warehouse environment (preferably with a manufacturing company)
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management
• Time management skills and the ability to delegate
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
