Security Manager

We are looking for a Security Manager to join our leadership team at Royalton VESSENCE Barbados.

The Security Manager is responsible for:

• Develop, implement, and oversee the annual security strategic plan in alignment with hotel leadership and corporate standards.
• Manage and control the security department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Establish, implement, and enforce security protocols, emergency response procedures, and crisis management plans.
• Ensure full compliance with local laws and regulations, including coordination with the Royal Barbados Police Force, Barbados Fire Service, and other relevant governmental authorities.
• Lead preparedness and response plans for natural disasters, including hurricanes and extreme weather events.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards to optimize security operations while supporting a safe and welcoming guest experience.
• Monitor, analyze, and report key security performance indicators to enhance preventive and corrective strategies.
• Lead investigations related to incidents, accidents, losses, and security breaches, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation.
• Oversee industrial, environmental, physical, and electronic security programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and coordinate emergency preparedness and drills across the property.
• Develop and enforce security guidelines to protect guests, associates, company assets, and confidential information.
• Supervise electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, and monitoring systems), ensuring optimal functionality and data integrity.
• Prepare and present regular security reports and risk assessments to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel or resort security operations, preferably within the Caribbean or similar island destinations.
• Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a hospitality or service-driven environment.
• Strong knowledge of Barbados safety, security, and labor regulations, including emergency response and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating with local authorities, including police, fire services, and emergency response agencies.
• Experience developing and executing emergency preparedness plans, including hurricane and natural disaster response.
• Solid understanding of electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, incident reporting platforms).
