It is the responsibility of the position to play a critical role in protecting the organization and its assets, ensuring that a safe environment is maintained for staff, guests, and their assets and that all safety regulations and regulations are complied with.

The Security Manager at Royalton Antigua is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the hotel’s security and safety strategies to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and assets. This role involves managing security personnel, coordinating emergency response plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a secure environment that aligns with the hotel's standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the annual security strategic plan in collaboration with hotel leadership.
  • Design, implement, and monitor security protocols, policies, and procedures to safeguard guests, staff, and property.
  • Manage the security department’s operations, including staffing, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee the execution of civil protection and emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for various contingencies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize safety and security incidents.
  • Maintain compliance with local, national, and international safety, health, and security regulations.
  • Coordinate security efforts during special events and peak periods, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Lead investigations into incidents involving guest or staff property, injuries, or security breaches.
  • Monitor and analyze security indicators, preparing reports and recommending improvements.
  • Ensure the security system (electronic, physical, and personnel) operates effectively and is regularly maintained.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for security staff, including emergency procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture department for security staff hiring, development, and compliance training.
  • Supervise the protection of tangible and intangible assets, including cash and sensitive information.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and incidents, coordinating with local authorities as needed.
  • Ensure security measures are aligned with environmental, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Support the hotel during audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on security activities, incidents, and investigations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in hotel security management or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate staff.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to analyze security data and develop strategic initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications in security, safety, or emergency management preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are an advantage.
